Any leaks with that little extra lube in there? Did you vent the fill
plug?

 Oldtime guzzi guy told me to overfill by a few ounces and the gear lube
will walk up the driveshaft to the u-joint. Done it on my Eldo and T-3.
Every time I've pulled the swingarm, my u-joint was covered with gear
lube. 135,000 miles on the T-3 joint and over 50,000 on the Eldo joint,
both look and feel like new.
