Probably due to my engine/head work. New seats, valves, guides, ect. The guy did a absolutely great job. I also spent some time "flowing" the heads when I was working at the machine shop. Allot of carb adj. time also, the plug color never varied from the perfect tan once they were set. 30+ year old parts and carbs all have their own individual history. Some might of got beat on while others were owned by the guy doing 50 in the fast lane. Who knows? Maybe the Luigi putting a particular bike together had a wine lunch, never know. Just try to make the best of what you got, 10-5mpg, splitting hairs to me, well maybe not these days with the gas prices. 50 mpg? Maybe, I know it was/is allot better than the troublehead, fire consumes allot of gas:-) Kevin Graf Midwest Pension Actuaries, nc. Took the Eldo out for a 110 mile run last Sunday and fueled up just before heading out and just before stopping at home. I averaged about 42 mpg with Amal carbs. Monday jumped on the Tiger and filled up and calculated 40.2 mpg. How does a set of old amals out perform EFI? If I switch over to Delorto's will I have to stop and take gas out of the tank from time to time or do the Del's just help with acceleration and top end? Do all Guzzi's with carbs get this type of gas mileage? Do all Guzzi's make you grin so much your jaw hurts? Do I sell the Tiger and get a Le Manns? Sorry, Just thinking out loud. BTW, I wind up both toys as hard as I can when I play with them, they both have a great sounds. Totally differnt, but great.
