i got mine unscrewed by using a strap-wrench. i think origionally it was an
oil filter wrench for a large diesel. [biiig mother!] had to put sandpaper
under the strap to give it some bite on the chrome. [there's probably
abetter way]. while apart, according to kevin scogsburg, ya put 1" spacers
made from 11/2" [i.d.] under the springs for a preload. i used pvc
waterpipe. kev says the ride is MUCH better.
as far as oil goes, greg field said he used 90 wt. gear oil, some guys use
auto-trans. oil. i used 30 wt. belray fork oil, 'cause i had some. good
