1. Even with the proper tool you can still damage the rear crank bearing
trying to pull it out. If it doesn't want to come out & you think it will
take too much force, dismantle the rest of the engine & drift it out by
TAPPING the front of the crank.

2. It just unbolts

3. The nut on the camshaft should be really tight, use an air powered impact
wrench if available to undo (I used to take whole engines to a friendly
garage before I got one). Alternatively lock the cam. The factory tool for
holding the cam is a waste of space, so I made my own which works great.
email me & I'll send you a drawing. If you lock the crank, you really put
too much pressure on the oil pump.
Everything else comes apart fairly easily.

Another guy and I will be tearing down two eldo engines this weekend, and
I
 have a couple questions.

1) We got the tools from MI to remove the rear crankshaft bearing and
stuff. Any tips here???

2) How does one remove the oil pump?

3) what other nifty things (problems) will we run into removing the crank
and cam and stuff.??

All your advice on this matter is greatly appreciated. THANKS!!
