Hi Everyone,
After going offline last night, I got to thinking about Mike's question. This
morning I read some of Greg Field's "Moto Guzzi Big Twin's", particularly pg.
24. The heading is "cracking cases" and states that some early V700s had cases
replaced by "Guzzi technicians" at Premier. It says: "he (Reno Leoni)
remembers a whole shipping container of them (cracked cases) being sent back."
I don't know if this may be some of the reason numbers don't match on some
machines, but thought I'd mention it to you. Later!

Hi Mike,

I believe that this was the norm for the early 700's. When they went to
the
12xxx and above serial numbers (Ambos and Eldos)....the engine and frame
numbers matched.

By the way...can you give me your serial numbers again? I have your 700
listed as #1780. Was that the engine or the frame. And the second bike??

Regards...Ian

I have now owned three examples of V700's....still have two....none of
them

had matching frame and engine numbers, the titles all matched the
frame....is this the norm as I expect?

Mike
