I left work on friday at 3pm and headed north of Phoenix with the Eldo
in the back of my truck. I found a campsite just south of Flagstaff,AZ.,
and put up the tent by 7:0pm. Luckily, I met another Cardinals fan here
that had a campsite, so I just put in with him.

I unloaded the Eldo early Sat. morn, and was on the road to vegas by
8:00am. I got to Hoover dam at noon like I thought, but what I didn't
count on was it being 120*! It was deathly hot! I didn't find anybody
waiting for me, so I went ahead and went to Vegas. I figured if I was
gonna have a heat stroke, I was going to do it where there was medical
assistance available!

I got into town and went into the Sam's Town casino and hotel. Man, was
it nice and cool in there. I got on the phone, and called fellow lister
Tim Crump who was instrumental in getting me situated in Vegas! I was
completely lost, and Tim came thru 'BIG TIME'!

Tim took me over to fellow lister Bill Arbour's house. Bill is a great
guy who put me up in his house for a coupla days. Bill took me down to
the 'strip' and to 'down town' to see all the sights. Man, has Vegas
changed since the last time I was there.!

I had breakfast with Tim and Bill on Sunday morn, and then Tim and I
took a ride to 'Red Rock". It's a really cool loop of 13 miles that
wanders thru a Grand Canyonesque terraine. Very impressive. About one
mile before the exit, I saw a car parked on the right hand side of the
road, so I moved over to the left side. Then I saw this wild burro
starting to cross the hiway towards the car, looking for a hand out. I
had to grab lots of brakes and skidded inbetween the car and the burro.
Scary!. Tim said that costs extra, but wouldn't mention it to the gate
guard!

I left Vegas this morn at about 7:00 am, and returned here to Flag about
12:30. A good trip on the Eldo. I guess about 600 miles round trip.

Well, I need to go and put on some skin lotion, and the folks here at
the NAU library are looking at me kind of suspisously.(too old to be a
student). Gotta go!

Bye!
