Hey all-
Broke my clutch cable today...it's amazing that these bikes shift so well
without using the clutch. Upshifting was a pain as well as stopping, but I
had to get her home. Anyway when I was removing the old cable, I noticed
oil on the underside of the u-joint boot. Is this anything to worry about?
I have no oil in my garage where the bike is parked, so it's not dripping or
anything...just hanging on the bottom. I assume that it is coming from the
rear diff. I just changed the oil in it...maybe a little too much? I went
by Dave Richardson's advice to use 360 cc's (mL) and not use the level check
plug (I took the plug out just to see, and indeed what you pour in the top
comes right out the plug hole and doesen't fill the rear end at all).
Anyway, just wanted some input on this.
Also, is it worth it to repair a clutch cable (the ball end at the handle
came off) or should I just get a new one?
Cheers!
