Hi, all. Someone implied that only the Police models
have the polished aluminum dash, but I don't think
this is correct: I think most v700's and Ambo's had
the aluminum dash. The black dash with the tach. was
basically an Eldo item. My '69 Ambo has the aluminum,
which looks nice when it is polished, but no better
then the black when tarnished, and doesn't have the
tach. I have seen some aluminum ones with both tach
and spedo, but I don't know where they came from.
Anyone?

As for the original sidestand (versus the police
style), I really like my original sidestand: it's
strong, has a big foot, and tucks itself up if I
forget to. And to the fellow who removed his because
it rattles, there is at least one good use for the
sidestand: if you put the bike on the centerstand and
put the sidestand down and tilt the bike over so that
it rests on both stands, you can remove the rear wheal
quite conveniently. Sounds tipsy, but I understand
Guzzi planned it that way, and it works great. But I
must say that I never noticed mine rattling.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, just adding my 2
lei.

-Mike (69 Ambo)
