When confronted with a sudden loss of spark in a bike that formerly ran
fine repeat this mantra while sitting in the lotus position next to the
bike:

It's a bad ground.

When you feel you have achieved spiritual clarity get out your
multimeter and check the battery ground first and then the points.
Coils do fail but not as often as you might think. Before I achieved
the high level of spirituality I float around in now I diagnosed my
Eldo's hard starting and replaced the coil -- backwards -- with the
wrong type (externally balasted). It still ran pretty good until I
figured out my mistake and put in a new coil and points fired black box
-- which fried in less than a year stranding me on the Queensboro bridge
and testing my Yogic calm.

It's a bad ground.

Breathe.

Feel better?

David
