Brad,

I don't think there is anything to worry about. Guzzi did weird things =
back in the early days. They still do weird things :-)

The earliest 700's had a serial number like "VA*05AA*" These were likely =
the first bikes that came out. After that they went to a 4 digit serial =
number.=20

When the first Ambos came out the had a serial number with 5 digits. The =
first series had an "A" in front of the numbers. They were A12xxx.

After that the numbers for the Ambos went without the "A" and were =
numbered 13xxx thru 22xxx.

The Eldos appear to start with serial number 52xxx and run through =
61xxx.

Hope this clears things up.

Ian

I am puzzled why I don't have a 5 digit # stamped in frame ( foto =
Att.) my engine # is 1192. Is that a 700cc then?
