On a semi-related note-
I use a crappy K-mart (or was it Wal-Mart?) garden tractor battery in my
Eldo. No probs for two years so far. Cost $19 vs. the $90 Yuasa batteries.
A good choice for the Guzzisti on a budget. If anyone has had any
problems with a battery like this I would like to know...don't want my ride
going up in flames!

I have a 74 LAPD which has the stock police equipment. I even have the
metal ammo police boxes on it. The spot lights that came with my bike are
made by Dietz. The part number on them is 90-5. I believe you may be able
to find these at a shop that supplies equipment for tow trucks and like
vehicles. I saw a tow truck the other day that was equipped with a pair of
Dietz spotlights. The bulbs in my lights are GE 40w driving lights. With
the spot lights and the large front & rear running lights, I was also
worried about my electrical system being drained. I modified my battery
pan to accept a 700 amp battery out of a late model GM. The battery is a
tight fit and you have to run aftermarket air filters, but I have not had a
problem with my electrical system since I installed the battery 3 years
ago.

Hi All,

I have a quick question on those spots.

Anyone know what kind of wattage they draw each? There has been some
discussion as to the lights drawing too much energy and the generator can't
handle it. As far as I know the generator produces 300 watts.

Thanks...Ian

I found my neighbor a 74 Eldo police bike. We are going on a road trip
this Friday to pick it up. One thing it is missing is the spotlights.
Does anybody know if they are still available, whom sells them, and for
how much? He'd like to pick up a set.

Thanx,
