I'm wondering if I have been adjusting the 2-shoe front drum brake on
my '72 Eldo correctly. Here are my steps:

- remove brake cable from brake lever at the drum
- remove one pin that holds the threaded connecting rod between the
front and rear brake levers
- push the connecting rod out of the way
- activate both brake levers till the shoes hit the drum
- with my third hand, adjust the length of the connecting rod to hold
both levers at their
current position - making it a tight fit rather than a loose one
- replace pin and cotter pin
- reattach brake lever

Does this sound about right?

And why didn't Guzzi make the threaded connecting rod have a
right-handed and left-handed threaded couplers? This would make it
really easy to adjust the length of the rod without having to remove a
threaded rod pin at all.

On that same note, can you buy left-handed tap and die sets anywhere?
