I don't think I've ever rode Olive but someone has commented on it, I went
for a ride yesterday a guy a at stoplight next to me said "cool bike what
year is that?" I told the truth that time, I rode it to church the other
day and one of the old guys saw it in the parking lot and came searching to
find me, he told me he put a lot of miles on those things in WWII, I didn't
have the heart to tell him what it was. Olive gets mistaken for an Indian
military all the time. What great fun!

I still laugh when I think about that one!

Thanks Rich for the wonderful account.

Hearing stories like yours flashes me back to many of my similar encounters
with curious admirers. Well...all except the cute girl bits. I guess I need
to get a bit of grey before I experience those encounters eh? :-) Even
before I had my (Aquila.....yes I have named my girl too :-)) painted to
her
current beauty I was constantly getting compliments on the bike. My
favorite
was once, when I was taking a ferry across the river, this guy in a
$150,000
Mercedes parks besided me and starts talking to me about the bike. One
thing
I have always, loved about these machines is that people don't seem to have
a
problem talking to you...and I love that. If I was on a HD I doubt that he
would have started a convo. I ceratinly would not have started a convo with
him :-)

Lots of other little stories of people waving at me as I ride by
etc....When
they occur it makes me feel real good inside.

The funniest I remember was when I was in Maryland with Dave Otis. At a gas
stop Dave (on his red Eldo..Heather), his boy Andrew (on his green
Ambo...Olive) and me on my black Ambo were grabbing a quick bite. A little
girl ran past us and asked her mother......"Mommy is that a Harley
Davidson?". Really made me laugh. Not long after that this "good ol'boy"
came up and said...."them is one nice fine set of BMW's ya got yourself
there..."

Ahhhh life as the owner of a Loopframe. Sometimes I just head into the
garage and look at the bikes.....they are beautiful aren't they?

Regards.....Ian

So I get home from work and at about 04:15 the phone rings
