DS,
Could be corroded or rusted points. Take off distributor cap and run =
emory paper between the points, not too much+ACEAIQ-. Turn dist. cap =
upside down and look inside and check points for corosion. Check rotor =
cap for corosion. Clean all copper points on dist. cap and rotor and =
make them bright. Spray all copper with WD-40 lightly. Then check coil =
wire. Be sure it it hooked into the coil and into the dist. cap. Spray =
coil and ends of spark-plug wires lightly with WD. Try starting bike. =
If still problem check for spark on plugs. Pull one plug out and then =
reconnect spark plug wire. While trying to start bike touch the side of =
the spark plug to the cylinder head. The plug should spark. If it =
sparks red it is no good go get another spark plug - blue spark is OK =
but I think white is the best. After you do all this stuff contact me. =
Good luck, Bob '69 Ambo.

My ambo has been parked outside with a cover over it. We've had a =
lot of rain over the last several weeks so it hasn't been ridden too =
much. Last week, I hadn't started it for a couple weeks so I jumped it =
and hooked it up to the battery tender for the night (I can't keep it =
hooked up to this because I need to park it near my front door, =
something frowned upon my the apt. management). Nest morning moved it =
back out to the street. Tried starting this morning, about a week since =
the last time, and it wouldn't start, and I was draining the battery =
trying. When my wife got home, I hooked it up to the car. Still wouldn't =
start. It's cranking really strong, but the engine won't catch. Any =
ideas?
