Right or wrong, what I normally do is elevate the front end so that the
front wheel is off the ground.....I then tighten the bearing adjusting nut
to where there is just a touch of drag, then back off just a
little(scientific huh).....you should probably repack the bearings if they
haven't been done in a long while....
