Howdy!
I thought my petcocks were strange to have 3 washers, but now I see that is
normal. They won't even thread all the way in the tank for some reason.
They go in enough tho'...4-5- turns. No thread damage anywhere that I can
see. They almost look tapered, but who ever heard of a tapered thread?
I used a set of brass washers for a Brit bike that have a rubber seal on the
inside hole against the tank. Have had only a couple of intermitent
leaks...probably from a carb tho'.
Home Depot sells fiber washers that seem to work real well. I use these for
the other 4.

Too damn cold to ride dammit!

I've noticed on mine there is about1/4" maybe more of space between the
petcock
body and the tank, it looks like there is one big gasket or maybe some kind
of sealer somebody put on. Is this normal?

 Doni

Almost forgot, the gasket between the petcock body and the tank can be
a
source of leaks also. I read somewhere that you can install o rings
instead. I guess you can find them at an auto parts store.

Hi all,
One of my petcocks is leaking and the other must be clogged up pretty
good, because when I switch over to it, I'm getting no flow. I figure
if
I

can clean out that one this weekend, I will be OK until I can get a
hold

of another one to replace the leaker. So, are there any
tips/suggestions

for doing this? Also, I want to have some fuel lines on hand incase I
need

to replace any of those old hoses when I take it all apart. What
should
I

use? I need something that is readily available, as I will be doing
this

 on Wednesday. Thanks.

Doni
