Thanks Dave,

I guess I should get off my butt and attempt to do this. Hey, if I could
restore my Ambo I suppose that I could do the bags.

Really the bags are in pretty good shape. I need to do a little patching
here and there and the lip around the top is cracked on one bag. Nothing big
but it should be reinforced in the way that you suggested. Gosh it's cold
and snowy out there, what else is there to do eh? :-)

If anyone knows of some latches that would work on the bag I would be
interested in hearing about them.

Amazing how this list isn't only good for information but also good for
motivation too :-)

Hope you yanks are enjoying the turkey weekend.

Regards....Ian

If I were to restore fiberglass bags, i would first worry about the
strength of the bag, if there are any tears or holes, or serious cracks, i
would want to strengthen and repair them from inside, use fiberglass cloth
and messy resin and hardner to patch them inside, (I also use Gorrilla hair
which works very nice, a fiberglass that contains fibers, and makes a real
strong repair and is not so messy) if done nicely you can sand and shape it
so it is bearly detectable. after that is done, fill the holes or cracks on
the outside, use fiberglass as much as possible and finish with body
filler, prime and paint. The big secret here is to make it strong first, if
you just were to repair it with body filler, it would flex and crack and
ruin your beautifull paint job. If you need a hand, let me know.
