Since you asked Keith, Does anyone know at what VIN # (or build
date) that change was made? It prompts me to check for information in
Guzziology tonight when I get home. I am probably wrong (wont be first or
last time) but I assume that needle bearings and roller bearings are (sort
of) the same.

PS Keith, Sounds like it still wont be on the road for a while ;-(

Subject: Ambo Throwout Bearing & Starter Questions

Greetings Fellow Loopers,

"Internally, the most important modification occurs in the clutch
throw-out bearing, which was of the caged ball variety and was
predisposed to early failure. This is now replaced by a needle
bearing.
The clutch operating arm mounting is also strengthened by a bigger
screw."

Thanx All!
