Hi,
Well it looks like the left cylinder decides not to fire all the time. I
am about convinced it is the timing as I haven't put a light on it yet. I
have both sides firing now but it is poping alot. Plugs are burning black
and the mufflers as well, but I need to do a real road test once the timing
is set up. I wish you could see it now with the seat and battery covers on
it, if I had it running as good as it looks I'd be riding everyday :-). I
am going to try to get a timing light this week, but I am not sure how to
use it on a Guzzi, do I use the inductor on the left cylinder plug or the
right ect, I followed the Guzzi manual by setting the left cylinder TDC and
adjusted lifters and visual on open points on the correct cylinder. Boy
once that other cylinder kicked in it really sounds like a VTwin :-).

Rick,

Tell us the nature of the bike not running right. Does it idle well? How
about acceleration? Is it rough at high rpms? Are the plugs Black?

I feel like this is a detective story. Putting together the clues to sort
the problem out :-)

By the way, thanks for confirming that the airbox fits nicely over the
Uni's. Guess what I am doing tomorrow?...that's right painting the airbox
and installing in on the bike :-)

Yeah Yeah. Enjoy that beautiful weather...cause in another 5 months, while
we are basking in the beautiful spring weather here in the north, you will
be trying to breath in the unbearable heat and humidity as you ride
thorugh
 the monsoon rains :-)

I'm still jealous though ;-)

Regards...Ian

Hi,
Confirmation on getting the UNIs in the Airbox. I put the unis on my
bike
and tried the fite and the side covers, looked good.
I cleaned the carb on the left side today and re-checked the valve
clearance. Running better than it was but still not smooth. Any way got
to
go around the block a couple of times, better than nothing, of course it
was
 60 today awsome.

Rick
