Interesting consideration Tim.

While we're in the area of the carb manifold gaskets....Guzziology =
recommends putting two on. Has something to do with not allowing the =
heat to migrate to the carb. I don't think this has anything to do with =
Rick's problems but interesting to note...I thought :-)

I sounds like you have an air leak down stream from the carb. When =
you put the carb manifolds onto the head, did you use a sealant? If air =
is getting past the big fiber spacer, it will run like that, and putting =
on the choke will fix it, since you are richening the mixture.=20
