Hey Pete,

Back in the early 70's, I had an Ambo, and it had a set of airhorns driven
off a little air pump. They were really loud, and were a lot of fun in
Tijuana, cuz they sounded like the horns on the busses. The air pump was
mounted behind the Wixom, on the fairing bracket, and the horns were on the
front frame. They used the regular button.
The pump was also handy for filling my air mattress when I camped out.

Anybody have any experience with improving the anemic horn on the Ambos?
It looks like you can just drop another horn in, JC WHitney, or a used
horn
 from another brand.
Anybody try an air horn? Looks like the trumpet can mount to the crash
bar.

Thanks
Pete

If you have Dellorto carbs, the mixture (idle)screw should be 1 1/2 to 2
turns out. The needle usually is set in the middle groove. 45/145
jets
are a good starting point...make sure the jets are in their proper
places

 (a
145 idle jet doesn't work well and will foul a plug very quickly...ask
how

 I
know ;)
Make sure your cables have enough free play and the slides lift at the
same
time. Warm the bike up as best as you can before doing final
adjustments.

 Hope this helps!

Ok,
Anyone know what could be causing plugs to foul out quickly?
I am on my second set and have only about 10 miles and a lot of idleing
on
 the last new set.
I have the carb set left about 1 turn out on the mixture right about
3/4

turn out, needles in the third notch from the top
in the top notch bike seems to run to lean. Plugs are burning really
black.

PS at least the poping is fixed :-)
