Agree with you there. I used a set of MAC mufflers on a BMW R100 I had,
they looked stock and sounded OK, cheap too. I looked in Harpers and
those Valteks are $375/pair, and OEM stainless set is $479, alternative
is to go with sets you have mentioned or keep an eye on e-bay. Perhaps
some fellow loopers may have a set laying around they can sell to you.

Hi Keith - thanks for two cents - that is what this is all about- I have
not
gotten to that point on my ambo yet - the old ones are still on it -
what

I have chatted with several owners around here that have loopframes ,
several
have used HD mufflers successfully- not oem 's , but aftermarket
closeouts -
that have been effective and inexpensive - several with fishtails that
have
looked interesting
well that's my contribution- I hope others will offer their's -as this
is a
great way to do some market research before plunking $300 down and
beinig un
happy . BTW - my experience with Mac in the BMW aftermarket world has
been -
their finish is not bad , their noise is a little louder - not bad, and
I
feel they are cost efficient
