Hi Ian,
No it was a set on an Ambassador at the Virginia Rally in '98. I agree for the
price they seem to be a good value, it's just sometimes I'm particularly
finicky. Mark's offer of the MACs has me interested in a set for the Ambo I'm
building up to sell, though. The chrome on them seems just as high of quality as
the Bub's I've used in the past, but any chrome will eventually pit and flake
even with diligent care. I kind of like the low maintenance aspect of stainless.
Sorry if I sounded too critical last night, always grouchy when I'm tired. :-)
Later,

Charlie

I have to admit....my MAC's don't have perfect welds but the finish is quite
good....in my opinion.

In some ways I don't mind the less than perfect work though...they are
mounted to a 69 machine. And this way they look like they came out of Italy
:-)

Charlie...when you saw my bike in Virginia...did you notice that poor welds
on my mufflers? The less than perfect finish?

It is quite interesting what people notice when they look at a bike. While
running in my 70 Ambo all people seemed to notice was the unpainted (and
tardy looking) starter on the bike. Go figure :-)

Regards...Ian

Mac's "problem" if you can call it that is lack of "consistent" quality,
the stuff I have seen varies a lot. If you find a pair that looks good, snap
um up.
