Hello All,
I have (and still use) the original keys that came with the old '69 Ambo. The
fork lock key is a "Neiman" the same as many BMWs use. The ignition key for what
it's worth is a Magneti-Marelli. Maybe check with a good BMW shop for fork key
blanks?

Hunter,

Are you sure that the locking mechanism is the same for the tool box locks
as it is for the steering head?

If you have toolboxes that lock (my 71 Ambassador does, don't recall if
earlier models do) the key should be the same. You can get into the toolbox
by carefully driving out the hinge pin. The toolbox lock should be easy
enough for a locksmith to disassemble and make a key for and then you would
have the fork key as well!

Hunter

Hoping you have locking toolboxes
