Thanks...I was looking at the bottom of the shock. Didn't know they
attached at the top. Will probably have to make a spring compressor...I
can't find one small enough to get between the coils.

Most shocks come apart by compressing the spring (with spring compressor
tool) and removing collets under top eye.

How do you get the rear shocks apart? I have tried turning the preload
adjustment, but it doesn't want to turn past the adjustment settings nd
I
 am afraid to turn too hard.
