Tom,
What you are describing here is about acurate on what I am getting the
clutch in I can feel the noise through the lever, and once moving no noise.
Guess I am not gonna be riding for awhile now, gonna be a couple of months
before I can tear it down. I am getting ready to move really don't want
parts everywhere before packing.

Rich,

Have you checked the clutch throwout bearing? The V-700 probably has the
old style caged ball bearing, which if it lets loose will make all kinds
of noise, especially if you happen to be squeezing the clutch lever thus
helping to grind it to bits.

Hi,
Well now that I am on the road with my V700, after the bike warms up
say

after about 4 miles when I pull in the clutch lever I can feel a metal
clunking sensation and here what sounds like metal flopping around in
the
transmission. I know I will need to pull the tranny but if any body
has

 had
this problem before maybe give me some ideas on the problem and the
cost

 to
have it repaired. I guess I should add when the bike is cold it
doesn't

make the noise, listening with a screwdriver all sounds normal.

Thanks,
Rick
