Pete,

I call these strange misfires "sneezes". Every once in a while both my Ambos
will do this. Happens infrequently and at different situations. The bikes
sneezes and then runs fine after that.

Last year on my ride to the National...the bike sneezed once....somewhere in
Pa. Go figure

Of course....I am always checking things to make sure everything is ok. So
far so good.

Regards....Ian

Subject: engine misfire

I have been taking the 71 out for several shakedown runs in the past week.
starts and idles well. runs well at lower speeds. I am trying to
gradually
get familiar with its running characteristics.
I leaned on it a few days ago , and I heard and felt a pop or backfire.
Just one. I was either in 3rd or 4th gear.
I backed off and rode more conservatively after that.
I did have it up to 60-65 after that, at steady speed with no problem. I
have not had a backfire or misfire since this first time.
Is this a characteristic of the loops?

Thanks, all
