Chris,

Does the filler cap work better if you turn it the other way? I found one
way worked better that the other. Early models had the long end of the lever
pointing towards the seat but after people were losing their privates when
they went over the handle bars they made the lever go towards the front.

As for the sealing. I have restored the filler caps for both my Ambos. The
old gasket material was dried out inside. The dam thing leaked gas on my
fresh paint! I went to a local rubber supplier and the very nice owner
(Italian :-)) gave me a sheet of gas resistant rubber. I cut a new gasket
and presto...no leaks. I suspect that the reason your tank leaks is because
of the old gasket.

Regards....Ian

 Brian-
The problem with mine is that although,it fits, it feels too small...the
lip
of the cap won't go down over the edge of the filler neck. It'll close ok
but will not seal at all. I'm going to make it fit one day, but have a bad
case of sittus on assus going on right now.
I did wire up turn signals and get inspected today tho'.
Hope this helps.
