Or is that petcock. Whatever.

I finally got a day and installed Bruce Giller's petcock rubbers. Both
were leaking in certain positions. The toughest part was fitting them in
and then replacing the tap portion. They are a moderately tight fit (a
good thing) and you have to apply pressure to the outer nut while turning
it and not cross threading. The easy way was to remove the handle an use
a socket with washer in it to replace it. I did polish the valve face as
recommended by Bruce. So far they are totally gas tight. It's amazing
how a few drop of gas leaking can ruin a perfectly good ride. Many thanks
to Bruce who will have to sell about 15 of thes kits in order to fulfill
his capitalist goal of earning enough to buy a Guiness...

I also rebuilt the generator mounting. DPO had stripped the rear bolt and
epoxied it in. The front locating pin was also some sort of bodge. The
rear finally lest loose, breaking the head off the front.

I Helicoiled the rear, cemeting it in with red locktight. First time I've
ever done a Helicoil. Waay fun...

The front was turned out using a screwdriver after cutting a slot with a
dremel type cut off wheel.

In order to get clearance for the helicoil, I had to cut off the drill
bit, so I used the steel from that to make a new locating pin.

I also recently inherited a windjammer fairing off a suzuki GS850. Anyone
run thes on their guzzis? Anyone have an extra fairing mount??
About time for a test ride,,,
