Luap.
My 71 ran that way too when I got it. I know the best way to synch the
carb is with a venturi to balance the flow, but I used a mechanical method
that worked well. It seems to run much more evenly now. The right plug
still burns cleaner than the left but the exhaust heat and pressure coming
out of the tailpipe are fairly close now.

I have no crossover pipe between the mufflers.

I don't think you can synch the carbs by ear.
I can describe the mechanical synch method for you if you want.
Pete

Ok folks, help me if you can and dont mind. I went to my uncles this
week

and helped get his 73 eldo back to "original". The bike runs good, but
the left bank is blowing colder exhaust than the right one. I adjusted
the carbs best I could by ear and like I say the bike seems to be
running

fine and he says it has never run that good, but what could be the miss?
Could it be a burnt valve? Carbs need more work? Im at the end of my
wits. I know the left bank is firing and I got the idle where I think
it

 should be. Any suggestions?
