The flip type cap on my Eldo ,I was able to get apart with not much
coaxing. I was told that a gasket from a VW beetle will work as a
replacement.

I have the flip type and I also think the nut is on there for good,
peened
or something but I figured if I leaned on it too hard something
would break.
I dont have the gap. my gasket is a 360 degree item but it seems
pretty thin
and weak. NO leaks although I have not yet filled the tank to the
brim.
I'd like to replace the gasket too.

I am real curious what the comebacks are on this one too.
