Well, the bike is dead again. Still starts but it keeps fouling the
right plug. Think it needs a full tune-up and some carb work as she is
spitting and the right side smells like gas. He's going to bring it to
the shop sometime soon.

 OK, does this make sense?

Neighbor bought a new Group 55 battery and spark plugs this weekend,
installed both, and now his 74 Eldo starts right up! Can gas flooded
plugs give a white spark instead of blue? We originally thought it was
the coil, points, or condenser that was the problem, but apparantly it
was the plugs. He said the plugs did smell like gas when he had them
out. Guzzi mechanic did mention the plugs could have been filled with
gas, but I didn't think that would give it a white instead of blue
spark.

 Greetings fellow Loopers,

Sending this note about my neighbors 74 Eldo Police Bike. Bike was
running one minute, stalled, then would crank but won't start anymore.
Bike sat for a week or so when he went on business travel, and still
won't start. I helped him check it out, but we are both not super
mechanics, so we just checked the basics. Has fuel flowing to the
carbs, and spark on each plug, thought the spark is white on the left
side, white/yellow on the right side. I understand the spark should be
blue?? I checked the points, but wasn't real sure what I was looking
for as far as condition, we did use a nail file to clean them up a bit,
and cleaned up the rotor and cap a bit, checked the wires, which I think

may be suspect, and the plugs are new - we cleaned them too. Still
won't start, sputters on occasion but she won't go. Any ideas? I was
thinking perhaps the condensor went bad and is not sending enough juice
to get that blue spark, or perhaps the points are shot. I told him he
should probably just go ahead and replace everything, wires, cap, rotor,

points, and condensor.

Any ideas?

Thanx!
