Hi Guzzi list,

I have a 69 Ambassador that has shelled one of the Big end rod bearings =
on the left cylinder. I noticed on the ride home from work, it was lightl=
y 'hammering' on the left side. I also had a lot of oil blown out the bre=
ather hose onto my rear wheel. I pulled the oil pan off and found quite a=
bit of brass/bronze and aluminum looking shavings. On further investigat=
ion, I found the rod bearing bad, but there seems to be no scoring on the=
crank pin, although there is a little discoloration on the rod. My quest=
ion is this: Why do I have oil blowing out the breather? I pulled the pis=
tons just to make sure there was no broken rings and the rings on both pi=
stons are intact and there is no scoring at all on the cylinders. The eng=
ine is only about 6 months old and the cylinders have been Nikasel'd and =
valves done also by Eish. The rod bearings were reused, which was probabl=
y a mistake, but they appeared to be okay at the time. Any assistance wou=
ld be appreciated, thanks
