Has anyone ever disassembled and cleaned the oil pressure relief valve ?
My eldo was pumping mass quantities of oil out the breather box. I
swapped out the box and nothing change. I then punched out the flap and
spring in the box and replaced it with the updated valve & check ball.
Still no difference. The bike runs great and does not smoke a bit.
Someone told me it is possible that the relief vale, which is located
near the oil pump in the sump (hey that rhymes) could be stuck open, which
would cause. After running the bike at high speeds the back is covered
with oil and you can see it drip out of the breather hose. any ideas ?

hey troops-
while i'm a sittin' here with a sidelined ambo/eldo, waitin' for that
stator to show up [thanks again DaveO.!!], i got to wonderin'. would it be
worth my while to replace that trusty 4-speed with the 5-speed that's
sittin' on the bench? guzzidoug said to do it,& he's probably right, but
what's the actual advantage? as lazy as i naturally am, it's 1 more gear to
shift, an' all, but does my fuel mileage go way up [gettin' near 50mpg
now],
or could i go faster with less intake noise? [tell ya what- those k&n's let
that thang HOWL at decent speed!!!
thanks,
andy
