John>the chrome in the oil is a known thing. You can go on like this for a
long

time BUT-you say your never going to sell.So why not do the right thing
and get

a set of nikasil jugs and pistons and slap them on the old girl. You'd be
doing

the right thing for her-and for you.As for the wiring-you can get new
looms

from Mark at Guzzirenew or from MO at CycleGarden. Its not a job I have
attempted yet..........KO

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, the chrome has been flaking for a while,
and the performance is down a little, so it's getting to be that time. I
just
have so much fun riding it, I hate to take it down... Any thoughts on
whether
it is better to have the old jugs Nikasil coated (NKSL Silicon Carbide Inc.)
or to buy new ones ($600+/-??)???

On the wiring, I'd rather make my own harness rather than buying one.
The electrics on this are so darn simple....and if I run into a problem
down the road, I'll know exactly where to look! Plus, I DO have the
minor complication of wiring for the sidecar...

Thanks!

john
