Zer and all-
I wanted to attach a bicycle speedo to my eldo too, but the ones available
locally are not suitable. I was told of a brand called Sigma which may
work. My problem was that I could not get the sensor close enough to the
magnet...usually they need to be 1-2 mm apart to work. The Sigma's sensor
and magnet are supposed to work further apart, thus possibly facilitating
mounting it on my loop. What brands have y'all who have done this used and
how did ya mount it? I'd love to see exactly how fast I'm going!
Cheers!

As some may recall...I need to get my bike inspected. And because I need to
have a working speedo....

I worked up a couple solutions -
1) ask 'em stright out if I can run a bicycle speedo.

2) a BMW /5 speedo/tach cluster will fit and has the plugs for the idiot
lights. And I think it will be reasonably accurate (2:1 drive which I think
the veglia is as well.) the only problem here is that the idiot lights on
the BMW are 2 wire. They each have their own hot and the Ambo uses a common
hot with each light gronding at the instrument. This means I may have to do
some weird wiring to make it work. Why go to the effort when a 30 buck bike
speedo will work? This way I have a cluster that looks okay, works well and
I don't have a big hole while the stock unit is rebuilt.

anything I missed?

I am assuming that the ratio in the speedo did not change between the V7
and
the ambassador
