Hi David,
Dielectric grease is also sold as "tune-up grease", the brand I have is
Permatex. Should be available at Trak-Auto, Advance Auto Parts, NAPA, etc.
Comes in a little tube, about 2-3 oz. I like to use it on every electrical
connection, sparkplug boots, fuse holder, etc. I also "pack" the original CEV
"snuffbox" switches with it. Keeps water and corrosion at bay, electrics
working properly.

Here's a tip from the "Tips Book No.1":
Use the rubber bands meant for dental braces to keep the fuses tight in their
holders. Put the rubber band around the contacts to keep them snug against the
fuse.

Cheers,
Charlie

 Chris,

I have seen quite a few melted terminal blocks and I think that the
problem
has to be the pin type connectors loosening up and getting hot. I think
that
if you make sure you have a good solid connection you will be ok. I use
dielectric grease on all the connections to ensure good contact and
minimal
corrosion. I think it has helped.

Right now, I don't have them on my bike...maybe I'll leave it like that
cos
everything seems to work fine without. I was considering putting in a
starter relay, but will probably just leave it be...no probs yet (knock
on
wood).

Hello Ian, This "dielectric grease" sounds sensible...is that a generic
name or brand name...can you suggest who sells it....tube or spray
can.... Thanks for the suggestion....all clues appreciated. Best wishes.
