Joe,

How many miles?

Hard to say without knowing how the bike was ridden/treated but I can tell
you about what I found on my 70 Ambo basket case with 21,000 miles on her.

Carbs we full of rust......cylinders were shot as were pistons and rings.
Bottom end was fine as was the camshaft. One valve burnt. Tranny and rear
end in fine shape. Not too bad considering.

All in all...I have to think these bikes are pretty tough but even the
toughest engine can fail if you run it without oil :-)

By the way....the pan is pretty easy to drop. How much metal you find in the
bottom will tell you a lot. Sounds like the bike will need to be gone
through though.

Good luck...Ian

should I or not

69 ambo, trans leak, shift spring, sat for 20 years. How bad do we think
the bottom end may be.
