On a related note, my speedo seems to work but the needle seems to hunt
quite a bit and the speed indicated does not always correspond to the tach
reading.

I'd be curious to hear form any Ambo owner what an rpm to corresponding
indicated mph is.

I have a 71 Ambassador with stock gearing. also speedo cable is new.

Thanks a lot
Pete

Rumor has it that a harlie big twin speedo will fit
in the Ambo speedo
housing. JC Whitney $49. Anyone ever done this? Are
loopers 2-1 drive or
1-1 drive? What about the cable ends?

Mine jumped, hunted, etc., until I tightened it down at the tranny, not the
cable but that which it goes into. Steadied right up.
Might give it a try.
