Hi Kevin,
My '69 Ambo (w/4 spd.) has never leaked a drop from the trans breather, but
a customer's '74 Eldo (w/ 5spd.) puked oil out unless the level was run low.
Ended up drilling the hole larger (1/4" x 1/8" deep) and soldering a fitting
in. Ran a length of hose up to the top of the frame as a vent - no more
problem. I suppose you could also fit the later style vent (already made for
a hose to connect) if they're still available. I'm not sure if it's a design
problem with the 5 spd. trans or just a bike-to- bike variation. Cheers,

Charlie.

What can anyone tell me about the "plug" on the left side, near the
neutral indicator on the trans.I,ve never had to deal with it.. If it
ain't broke...
Anyways, I'm curious as to why my Ambo. has never spit a drop out of the
little hole(vent?) and my buddy Kevin's Eldo pukes it out of there like
there's no tomarrow?

What is it? What's it for? How does it work?
Thanks,
Kev
