after wrasslin with the green thing all weekend, it is back on the road. I
had to pull the tranny, replace both the front and rear main seals and the
seals in the transmission as well as the shift return spring (preventative
measure)

It all went well except that I opened my spare tranny as well. not pretty.
it has water in it and the whole thing is a wreck. rusted and galled. if you
are goig to store these out doors....plug the friggin speedo hole...

I also took a good look at my clutch. not good. oil soaked and badly worn. I
was just goung to drop the bomb on my beloved as to the cost of new plates
when I remembered the arson victim eldorado. I pulled the clutch on that
and, ta da! brand spanking new plates.

SO about sunday night I got the tranny all done and the bike was ready to
rock.

now I have another annoyance, maybe you all have had.... If I adjust the
clutch properly (4mm of slack) the clutch drags and the bike wont sit still
in neutral with my hand off the clutch. if I just take out all the slack
(just a tiny bit of pressure) the clutch acts normally. But I have no cable
slack at all. Indicating that the clutch is being held in.
