As part of my 69/70 Ambo restoration I updated the clutch throwout
bearing to the later 22mm one. A dealer sent me the parts, which
consisted of the inner and outer throwout bearing bodies, two washers,
an o-ring and a thrust bearing, but no rod. In re-using the old rod I
find that somthing is too long and that the button on the back of the
outer body sticks out too far for the actuator arm to deal with. What is
the solution to this problem? Do I need to get a shorter clutch push
rod, or do I need to machine the button off the back of the outer body
for the throwout bearing? Or is there some other answer that I have not
considered?
