The idling down and quitting is strange. Do you mean when you switch into
gear with the clutch pulled?

Sorry I wasn't more clear on that. Bottom line is it won't idle
with clutch pulled in....whether the transmission is in neutral
or not.
Do you think that the clutch plates might be
grabbing?
