If yer getting spark, check to ensure spark is timed ok. A static lite
will be good enough for that. If yer getting spark at the right time
it's either fuel (gas and air, carbs etc.) or compression (rings valves
pistons). Drain the fuel and carb bowls. Fill'r up with good stuff.
Check the carbs for crap and rustboogers. Make sure the fuel flows
through to the carbs by opening the petcock with the bowls off... nice
even flowage... enough to burn the garage down fairly quickly.

If all the above are reasonable the onliest things left are related to
cam, pistons etc. Don't laugh.. I once dropped a valve right when I
turned off the engine! I doubt if that's what's buggin you though. Could
be cam chain... (you'd see that when ya try timing the sparks)that would
be pretty coincendental (sp?).

All in all my money is on a cracked dist cap. Something I used to do
after washing my 56 VW is remove the cap... bake it in the oven at about
175 or so for a few minutes... install it, crank the bike with the wires
connected but the cap off. Do this in the dark and look for arc's. If
yer cap is cracked you might see a really cool trail of electricity
groovin aroun in the cap. Watch out for shocks. Could be bad cables too.

Good luck ... let us know what the final final is.
