Here is a picture of a modified one, (the linkage is not hooked on as this
was while I was still fitting it) it can be done quite easily, just turn the
lever 180 degrees, carefully grind teh lever off of the shifter shaft, and
with a little fiting you can make it fit in the correct place so as not to
interfere with anything else and weld it on. This will make the pattern 1
down 3 up, which I do to all of mine so my son's don't get confused when
they ride.

Actually, you would have to modify the shaft which the shift lever is
connected to. It is easy enough to flip the actuator arm on the back of
the trans around the other way, but then the corresponding lever on the
pivot shaft will be off by about 5 inches. The only way that I can think
of getting it to work would be to move the position of the arm (which is
welded to the shaft) about 5 inches to the left in order to get it to
line up with the new location of the actuator. This means that you would
either have to grind off the weld on the existing arm and move it over,
or better yet, fabricate a new arm and weld it in the new position.
Here is a link to a photo of the shift linkage on my Ambo, which is set
up with the footboards and consequently the "reverse" shift pattern.
