Tom,

OK. I got mine with the later side covers and 2 single instrument housings.
I have updated my throw out bearing to the 22mm with the new rear cover from
Moto International. I got the last 2 originals they had. My wheels already
had the stainless spokes, but the spare rear I had, had the old steel type.
Sold it on Ebay and now I will be needing the hub part for my Eldo project.
I guess I wasn't thinking too far ahead on that one. Hopefully another one
will show up when I'm ready for it. I will check my starter tomorrow and
give it a good clean and lube. What do you recommend for lube?

Paul,

My cable came from MG Cycle also. I also checked the spare cable that I
picked up from Mark at Mot Guzzi Classics and it (the adjuster) also
comes from the back. I don't think it makes much difference, so long as
you can get the proper adjustment.

Oh, there is not much difference between a 69 and an early 70. As a rule
when I describe my bike to a more experienced "looper" they will say
"oh, you have a '69", i.e. small side covers, 20mm clutch throwout
bearing, non-stainless spokes, single instrument nacelle. The later
models that were actually made in 1970 have the larger (Eldorado style)
side covers, an improved 22mm throwout bearing and stainless spokes.
Guzzi went through a lot of incremental changes on these bikes, using up
the old parts before going with the "new and improved".

When people ask, I tell them that mine is a '69 because the features
that it started off with more closely resemble those of that year.

Thanks Tom. I figured out how to open the link ok. Mine is also a July

Ambo, so does it make it a '70 model then?
Ok another question. I see that your clutch cable adjuster comes in from
the
back. My adjuster comes in from the front. Is mine wrong? This is how I
got
the cable from MG Cycle.
