Hello all,
I've been busy rebuilding my 71' Ambo. I was wondering if there is
supposed to be a thrust washer
between the crank timing gear and the front main bearing? When I
dis-assembled the engine, there
wasn't one. The crank timing gear surface that makes contact to the main
bearing seems to be a little
rough. I can also see the mark-off on the main bearing. I tried to stone
the gear surface to smoothen it
but the gear is chrome or something that is extremely hard. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.
