Andy,

A weak battery will cause the bike to do weird things. I was noticing that
as we were riding to the WNYR your bike quit a couple of times. I wonder if
that was attributable to the battery starting to go?

Good to hear Kermit is back to happily ribbiting along. We need her in fine
shape for the Adirondak Rally! I want him/her to meet Dynamo-Hum :-)

Regards...Ian

 ian&all-
well, dig this- the battery is toast. full of liquid, 2 years 0ld
[already?], will not recharge. kaput- good 'ol kermit took me home first,
what a great bike! he even coughed a few times [very uncharacteristic]
first, leaning me to cut the high speed farting around short, & go to the
barn.
gen. is 100%, as is everthing else, [did the remove fueltank [full]
boogie].
tommorrow, we ride again! [still wanna know how to wire up a voltmeter
tho!]

Andy,

Possible that your battery is shorting out? Maybe a bad ground wire?
Possibly a bad ignition switch?

I'm sure you will trace the problem down.....Ian

hi guys-
fired up the 'ol eldo for a romp thru the dingweeds today, i went about
70

miles, kinda looping [pun intended] back toward home [penn yan, ny,
315-536-5602, in case anyone gets lost], and at a stopsign, the ol gal
[maybe kermit is the WRonG name??] quit! push the starter button, nada.
push
it again, fires up & i go on home. pull into the barn, & she quits again.
no
start- rattles the new relay, thats it. i am stupid@ elec. stuff.
gen. is good, acc. to my local guy, no fried wires, or
unhooked/broken,
etc. dynomo lite never came on, but when i hooked the battery charger [out
of desperation], the batt. appeared to be really dead! fried! now i have a
rattle from the starter [good news!?] screw it- i'm leavin it on all nite
@
