Sounds to me like someone didn't attach the front wheel properly. Loosen the
pinch bolts at the bottom of each fork leg. Hold one end of the axle and
tighten the big axle nut good and snug. Bump the front end up and down once
or twice and now tighten the two pinch bolts. See if the hub still moves.
If so, replace your bearings.
