paul-
well, i knew someone there, years ago, and oddly enough, one of my son's
classmates is from there too! talk about a small world! [do you know of the
Farnsworth's?]
i can't remember the dealer's name, now [in N.Z.], but they have several
guzzi's for sale, or did, very recently. i don't think they are a guzzi
dealer, tho.
you can't go wrong with an ambo- i've had an engine/trans. on the bench
[850/5-speed] for a year or so, but this 'lil ambo is such a blast! well,
maybe when it dies..... ;>)

Hey Andy you sure sound fired up - must have been some ride! Sounds like I
can't go wrong with an Ambo...

Afraid I'm not near Wagga Wagga (why do you just like the name, know people
there or is that Guzzi heaven in Oz!?) What's the name / contact details
of the dealer in Christchurch? My girfriend's from there and it looks like
I might have to capitulate now and go for a visit if that's Guzzi
heaven...cheers!

Paul

Thanks Ian - I will contact the owner and get the frame / engine numbers
from him and send them on to you.

The reason I asked about the cruising speed is that the thing that bugs me
about my Ducati is that it really isn't up to doing freeway work at all (it
vibrates a little too much for my liking) - and it doesn't like to cruise
(better for early morning blasts along country roads). I figured the Guzzi
might be a little more flexible...sounds like it is from what you're
saying, although I suppose a few vibes are to be expected from a 30yo bike!

Regards,

Paul

Paul,

Is it possible to send me the serial number of the bike (frame and engine)?
I may be able to give you some info from those numbers.

Either bike is fine for touring. Of course the larger engine and 5 speed is
nice but the 750 with the 4 speed works fine.

I think these bikes work best at 50mph along a quite two lane road in the
country but I have cruised on mine at 80 mph. The bike was stable and
hummed
(or should I say whined) right along.

Regards...Ian

Hi list - just a brief introduction and a request for help. I'm an
aspiring loopframe owner that has been observing from afar (Sydney
Asutralia) for a couple of weeks now. I currently own a 1974 Ducati Desmo
Single that I'm looking to get rid of so I can get a loop. I though I'd
start the search early because there aren't a great number of loopframes
out here it seems. Perhaps you guys can help me figure out from the photo
at

http://www.e-motorcycle.com.au/moto_guzzi_motorcycles_for_sale.htm

whether this potential purchase is a genuine LAPD Ambassador? It's
located
a long way from civilisation - Bundaberg in Queensland, but if it's the
real deal I'm going for a holiday nearby in a couple of weeks, so I'll go
view it then.

Thanks in advance for your help - I'm impressed with the wealth of
information you guys share.

Regards,

Paul
